The Provost of West Lothian, Joe Thomas, has praised door staff at a West Lothian nightclub after their actions led to a well-known drug dealer being apprehended and arrested by police
[ClickPress, Wed Mar 15 2006] THE Provost of West Lothian has praised doorstaff at a local nightclub after their actions led to a well-known drug dealer being apprehended and arrested.
Police revealed to West Lothian Licensing Board that the individual concerned also had a bladed article in his possession.
They told board members: "The prompt actions taken by the staff at Club Earth indicated that illegal drug taking will not be tolerated within Club Earth and staff may also have prevented the occurrence of a serious assault."
Provost Joe Thomas said: "I'd like to congratulate the management and staff at Club Earth for their actions on this occasion. If they don't get co-operation, the police can't do their job."
Board member Bert Gamble said: "This was very commendable."
Club Earth manager Stewart Ness said: "Our aim is for customers to have a safe and enjoyable night out. We will not tolerate any form of substance misuse and operate a zero tolerance policy with regards to drugs."
