Shoppers of all ages and abilities will be able to try out their skills on the ice rink and take a well earned break from the Christmas shopping.
The synthetic ice skating rink from Ice Magic can take up to 25 skaters at any one time and also provides a disabled skating chair, plus dual blades for toddlers as well as the option of ice scooters. Terrence Morgan, one of Peak Village’s managing partners, said: "If people aren’t quite in the Christmas spirit just yet, then a visit to Rowsley this weekend should do the trick. The ice skating rink is great fun for all the family and will add a little Christmas magic to a day out at Peak Village."
In an ongoing effort to support the local community proceeds from the ice skating rink are being pledged to Rowsley C of E School. Terrence adds: "We are planning a number of projects which we hope will support the local community. We are sure that the ice skating rink will be a success and not only will the local school children have the chance for some fun skating time this weekend, but the school will also see the benefits from the proceeds. Santa is also at Peak Village this weekend so you never know - he may even make an appearance on the ice! "
The ice skating rink will be open from 11.00am-5.00pm on Saturday and 11.00am-4.00pm on Sunday; 30 minute sessions cost £3.50 for adults and £2.00 for children.
Santa’s grotto is also open this weekend at The Toys of Yesteryear exhibition between 10.00am and 4.00pm. Tickets are priced at £3.50 which includes entry to Santa’s grotto and workshop, a sit in Santa’s very own sleigh, an early Christmas present for every child, and entry to the Toys of Yesteryear Museum.
Peak Village is home to nearly 20 retailers including national names like Cotton Traders, Leading Labels, Ponden Mill, The Cook Shop and Mountain Warehouse. The outlet shopping centre attracts 750,000 visitors a year and offers visitors the opportunity to combine shopping with other local attractions.
