MRSA spray wins innovation award

[ClickPress, Wed Apr 20 2005] A special industry award has been made to Prochem Europe for Microsan, a multi-surface cleaner for combating MRSA and similar bacteria, as well as viruses such as hepatitis B and HIV.

The award, organised by the Cleaning Show in Birmingham, UK, honours those making ‘pioneering advances in the cleaning industry’.

Microsan® won Best Chemical Innovation having received the most votes in the category from members of the British Institute for Cleaning Science, Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers Association and Cleaning and Support Services Association.

Cleaning Show director Martin Scott said: "The Cleaning Show Innovation Awards mark a new tradition in the cleaning industry. Companies are already busy developing strategies to win the next awards at the Cleaning Show 2007."

Prochem Europe managing director Alan Tilley said: “Since its launch, Microsan has gone from strength to strength, winning plaudits from cleaners and building owners alike for combating some of the toughest bacteria you can find. This award vindicates our belief in this product and in the enormous investment made in its research and development.

“The most recent innovation has been providing the solution ready to use, rather than in concentrate form, in a handy, one-litre spray. This has been particularly popular in healthcare environments where time and human resources are precious.”
