ESB Upgrade For Ennistymon National School

Minister of State Tony Killeen has confirmed that the Government has approved funding for ESB upgrade works to be carried out at Ennistymon National School.

[ClickPress, Wed Jan 14 2009] Minister Killeen said, “The Building Unit of the Department of Education and Science will be in contact with Scoil Mhaínchín shortly in relation to the amount of funding approved. However, it is expected that, when completed, the upgrade works will deliver a more modern and efficient power supply to the school.”

He noted that numerous exciting developments have taken place at the North Clare school in recent months.

The local T.D. continued, “The awarding of DEIS status to Scoil Mhaínchín in late 2008 will ensure that the school benefits from a comprehensive package of supports. The Department has a range of programmes including Early Start to address educational disadvantage under the DEIS action plan. As part of DEIS the Department is developing supports for early childhood education to complement childcare services in disadvantaged communities.”
