‘A Night at the Oscars’ Ball, which is sponsored by Philips, is being held at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in Piccadilly, London on 19 February at 7pm and promises to be a glittering evening of Hollywood glamour.

However there is another very important reason for attending the event above the glitz, glamour and celebrity guests and that is raising vital funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association. This year the charity has set a target of £60,000 to raise on the night, which is essential for maintaining the information, advice and support services it offers to people with Down’s syndrome, their families and carers.

Talking about the Association Liam said:

"As a patron of the Down's Syndrome Association I applaud the work that the charity does to support the needs of its 19,000 members and to be a voice for all people with the condition in the UK.

Unfortunately due to filming commitments in the U.S Liam won’t be able to come to the Ball. He said:

"Sadly I am unable to attend the Down's Syndrome Association's fundraising ball, however, I would like to encourage people to attend the event and show their support for a charity which is very close to my heart."

Celebrities that are attending the event include former F1 World Champion Damon Hill, former Liverpool FC star John Barnes and Danny Williams who triumphed over Mike Tyson to take the title of British Heavyweight Champion

Tickets cost £135 and all proceeds will go the Down’s Syndrome Association to help them continue to support people with the condition across the UK.
