KISS launches new sugar free products and sweetening systems consultancy
New company, UK-based KISS, launched at IFE (International Food Exhibition) 2009 held from 15th to 18th March at ExCeL, London. KISS offers a range of sugar free candy, tabletop sweeteners and a sweetening systems service to formulate sweetening blends for food and beverage manufacturers. KISS is the brainchild of Richard Stead, who has over 30 years experience in the food ingredients and sweetener business in the UK and overseas.

KISS Sweetening Systems offers a specialist formulation service to food and drinks manufacturers, to ensure high intensity sweeteners such as Aspartame and Sucralose are blended in a way that provides the best taste profile.
Stead explains, “KISS Sweetening Systems consultancy is a market first and we anticipate great interest from food and beverage manufacturers as changing and developing formulations can be a costly and problematic business. Blending was simpler in the past but the new high-intensity sweeteners need careful handling in order to give consumers a sweet taste without that cloying sensation - - and replacing the natural flavour and bulking properties of sugar is a complex process. We can work with niche producers that have a wide range of confectionery or dairy products that each requires a different mix, and with food or beverage manufacturers of well-known brands.”
KISS Sweetening Systems provides technical help and advice on the best type of high-intensity sweetener or blend for the purpose as well as optimum usage levels and possible formulations for the products. The company can even supply the raw materials required for sweetening.
New sugar free candy range: KISS Kandy
KISS Kandy is a brand new range of sugar free, premium confectionery. Designed to be sold around special occasions such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day, the bright colours, attractive shapes and fantastic flavours of the novelty candy will appeal to children and adults alike.
Tabletop sweeteners
A range of tabletop sweeteners is in development based on KISS’s own innovative blends of high intensity sweeteners and sugars, including low calorie sugar cubes, granular sweeteners for sprinkling and baking, and tablet sweeteners. A full-range of half sugars will also be available.
