Appear as Yourself in New Comic Book

The creator of a new graphic novel/comic book invites one reader to guest-star in the next issue, with their likeness to be drawn by a portrait artist.

[ClickPress, Mon May 08 2006] Have you ever wanted to appear as yourself in a comic book? Now you can!

The creator of the superhero/science-fiction series MARK STARKS' MARTIAN invites one reader at an online auction to guest-star in the next issue, with their likeness to be drawn by a portrait artist. A writer will develop the story and a synopsis sent to the winning bidder for their approval.

"Martian" is an intergalactic cop who patrols the galaxy with his female Earthling partner, Terra. In Issue #0, Martian and Terra confront robots, pirates and a space dragon. That issue ends in a cliffhanger. "We need (the reader) to help them out of a jam (in issue #1)," exclaims Mark Starks. "He or she may appear as themself or a character - hero or villain."

Starks noted that Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis and other celebrities earned great exposure by appearing as "themselves" in comic books. Issue #1 will be available for purchase on the Internet and at selected book stores everywhere. "The reader will become a star at book signings and conventions, and considered for potential film/TV/merchandise licensing," Starks added. The intended audience is all ages.

Starks, 43, is a graduate of Central Michigan University (BAA - Journalism). His first book, "Johnny Green & the Greenmen", was published earlier this year.

The auction ends Thursday, May 11.
