Independent musicians swamp online radio station - listeners demand downloads

New internet radio station dedicated to giving independent musicians a distribution platform to present their work to the world swamped with music submissions.

[ClickPress, Sat Jun 03 2006] The production team at online radio station Boost Digital Radio have been overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the music being submitted to the channel by independent music makers worldwide.

CD’s and DVD’s are arriving daily from the USA, Canada, UK, Australia and such diverse places as Greece, Italy, France, South Africa, Germany, Denmark and even Russia. (One performance received was recorded in a concert in Red Square!)

Boost Digital audio engineer Brian Newington commented: “I’m overwhelmingly impressed by the exceptionally good sound quality of the submissions we are getting. Well produced music with good balance. And the amazing thing is, while some of it is studio produced, a lot of it is recorded in people’s homes. Today’s technology makes that entirely possible.”

Boost Digital Radio came online in December last year with only a few hours worth of music on rotation. Already there’s nearly 24 hours of top quality independent music being featured and the playlist is growing daily.

To meet the growing requests by listeners to be able to add tracks that they particularly enjoy to their own library, Boost Digital Radio is about to open the Boost MP3 Music Store, which will enable music lovers to download their personal selections from the music played online. They’ll have a choice of purchasing either single tracks or an entire album. The artists concerned will be given a generous percentage share of the income from these sales.

It’s hoped the Boost MP3 Music Store will be open for business by the end of June, 2006. Independent music makers are urged to submit their music now, if they haven’t done so already, so they’ll be represented in the launch.

Boost Digital Radio only gives exposure to independent, unsigned artists and is programmed and operated by experienced radio industry professionals.

All genres of music are acceptable. Unsigned bands and artists can download information from the website about how to submit their music for airplay.
