FieldTurf Tarkett scores FIFA 2 Star certification in Nottingham
FieldTurf Tarkett has been granted the first FIFA Two Star certification in the UK for its Prestige synthetic turf pitch at the Southglade Football Park in Nottingham. This 7,824m2 Prestige XM pitch was installed in February 2006 by FieldTurf Tarkett’s local partner and installer – Heydour Limited. FieldTurf Tarkett and Heydour Limited are inviting journalists to visit the first British FIFA Two Star pitch in Nottingham on 5 July 2006.
[ClickPress, Wed Jun 07 2006] The Prestige synthetic turf range was introduced in 1998 and is the ideal pitch for football, rugby and other sporting and educational applications. With exclusive fibres and tufting heights, the Prestige concept is designed to deliver a long-lasting, high-performance surface for a variety of sports. It can be played on in all weather conditions – neither rain, nor snow, or heat affect Prestige's consistent performance. With over nine million square metres already installed worldwide, Prestige is in daily use by professional football clubs all over the globe.
The Prestige XM concept is the latest development in the Prestige range. Launched in 2005, it features the most advanced monofilament fibre in the industry. This XM fibre is created exclusively for FieldTurf Tarkett. A durable spine runs vertically through the centre of each fibre, providing unmatched memory and resistance to matting. The arched profile of this monofilament fibre is based on similar structures found in nature.
The FIFA One and Two Star certifications were formulated by UEFA and FIFA to classify high-quality synthetic turf pitches. A FIFA Two Star pitch meets the highest standards and passes strict tests for comfort and safety. Since 2004, professional football and UEFA Champion League matches can be played on new generation synthetic turf only if it is FIFA Two Star certified. Prestige meets or exceeds the most stringent international standards.
