Further growth for Learning Light
The e-Learning Centre website (www.e-learningcentre.co.uk) and the e-Learning Job Centre (www.e-learningjobcentre) have now merged with Learning Light (LL), a non-profit organisation, seeking to establish itself as a Centre of Excellence in the use of learning technologies in the workplace.
[ClickPress, Mon Jun 19 2006] The e-Learning Centre website (www.e-learningcentre.co.uk) has now merged with Learning Light (LL), a non-profit organisation, seeking to establish itself as a Centre of Excellence in the use of learning technologies in the workplace.
Jane Knight, who set up the e-Learning Centre in 1994 and who is now also the Head of Research at LL, will continue as Chief Editor and add resources to the website.
The e-Learning Centre is considered to be one of the foremost global reference sites about e-learning.
The website will continue to focus on e-learning for the workplace and post-16 education as well as continuing to offer free access to thousands of weblinks, categorised into five main sections: Library, Showcase, Events, Products & Services and Bookshop.
“The e-Learning Centre will, therefore, provide a complementary resource to LL’s existing and growing knowledge base of research,” said Knight. “And, if your article, product or event is not already listed in the e-Learning Centre, you can submit the details using the online form at the site.”
The e-Learning Job Centre (www.e-learningjobcentre) has also merged with LL. According to Knight, this website will continue to accept postings from e-learning professionals seeking e-learning jobs, as well as from companies and recruitment agencies looking to recruit staff for e-learning positions.
Mark Pittaway, CEO of LL, commented: “Learning Light’s embracing of these important websites within the e-learning community marks the first in a series of important steps in consolidating the resources available to e-learning professionals. We feel that it is important to provide a cohesive, holistic and, above all, comprehensive support and information service that adds value to all e-learning professionals – be they buyers, suppliers or users of this technology.”
