Varlink enter partnership with Momote

[ClickPress, Tue Jun 27 2006] Varlink, the York based Mobile Computing & Data Capture product Distributor, have recently announced their new partnership with Momote for the provision of cross platform mobile software. Varlink Technology Director, Bill Gordon, commented “no mobile solution is complete without the combination of hardware, software and connectivity. The relationship with Momote brings this combination closer together”.

Momote have created the MX Platform with a remit to solve a major issue for software developers and system integrators developing mobile applications, that of device choice. The MX Platform enables developers not to be constrained by device type and to create a single secure application source code which can be deployed onto multiple different handsets whether they are mobile phones, PDAs or blackberry devices. The advantages of this cross platform approach include the need for only one single code base as well as a significant reduction in development time.

Thousands of users are already using the MX Platform to drive their mobile strategy including Autoglass, Iveco and Lewis Day, one of the UK’s largest courier, executive car and medical service provider. Pro-Mobile, a mobility solution developed using the Momote MX Platform enables Lewis Day’s 1000 drivers to receive instructions, update the control screens and obtain client sign off via their XDA smart phones. This solution has dramatically reduced calls to the control room, improved the accuracy of call information and virtually eliminated paperwork.

Thanks to this new partnership with Momote, Varlink is confident that it will help its reseller community network deploy better mobile solutions delivering better mobile solutions delivering faster R.O.Is. The key benefit to Momote is that the company can now develop and deploy its applications on a wide range of rugged PDAs and data capture terminals distributed by Varlink.
