[ClickPress, Tue Jul 25 2006] MC2, the videogames publisher and specialist in adventure games, and Tetraedge Games, the mobile games specialist, have announced that Tetraedge has been chosen to gear MC2’s entire catalogue towards mobile-phone platforms. The signing of the partnership agreement between the two companies is accompanied by MC2's acquisition of a minority interest in Tetraedge's capital.
MC2's catalogue features nearly 60 international licences for such well-known adventure games as Syberia, Still Life, Amerzone, Obscure and Sniper Elite. The wealth of titles has been gradually amassed over more than 10 years by gaming professionals and expert designers of those exciting virtual worlds; the catalogue currently stands as one of the world's richest funds for fans of mainstream adventure games.
Emmanuel Olivier, CEO of the MC2 group, says: "What adventure gamers are seeking more than anything else is immersion in an original, cinematographic and intuitive world, where they have to use their brainpower to solve puzzles. Such gamers are just as willing to play at home — on a PC or games console — as they are while on the move. It was only natural to port our adventure games to cellphones, and Tetraedge was the logical choice. As pioneers in high-end adventure games on cellphones, they have developed world-exclusive expertise that has already won over a community of loyal gamers around the globe."
Franck de Visme, CEO of Tetraedge, for his part, explains that, "This partnership with MC2 will strongly reinforce our position in the market for high-end games designed for cellphones (Pocket PC Phones and Smartphones), as well as enable us to step up our R&D efforts to target the next generation of cellphones and develop our production capacity. Furthermore, MC2's leading position in the PC adventure games market should soon open up a similar position for Tetraedge in the mobile world. In any case, this industrial partnership will allow us to confidently prepare for the next investor round scheduled for early 2007."
