[ClickPress, Wed Aug 02 2006] A series of seminars aimed at doctors of all specialities who undertake or who wish to undertake medico-legal work is receiving high acclaim from delegates as it continues across the country. The latest seminar held in the atmospheric setting of Lumley Castle, Durham received positive praise from its delegates, described as ‘an excellent event’. In fact the feedback was so positive that many of the delegates have requested that med-fiche extend the seminar from a half day to a full day!

The courses which are being hosted by medico-legal agency medi-fiche are presented by Judith Kelbie, partner at Lyons Davidson Solicitors, accredited mediator and a leading national authority on major motor claims, and Jonathan Dingle, barrister and specialist in personal injury, sports law and clinical negligence cases.

The seminar entitled ‘Preparing and giving medico-legal expert evidence’ covers the role of medical evidence, the duties of an expert, report structure and content; what to include and exclude, prognosis and assessing magnitude. It also covers the giving of evidence in court, cross questioning and witness box skills.

The half day seminars are packed with information, providing insight into the requirements and duties of an expert witness for those yet to embark on medico-legal work, and are an excellent refresher for experienced report writers. Practical demonstrations, role play and interactive audience participation make the course lively and engaging.

The course is accredited for 3 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points and offers incredible value for money at £125.00 per person, with a post seminar lunch providing a good networking opportunity.

Previously described by one delegate as ‘The best conference I’ve attended’, other such comments include, ’I enjoyed the day very much especially the virtuoso performance by Jonathan Dingle’. The course speakers have been praised for delivering an informative, engaging and comprehensive course covering the skills needed to become a successful expert witness.

The seminars are being hosted at venues throughout England. The remaining dates for 2006/7 include:

Chester - 20 Sept 06
Reading - 30 Nov 06
Birmingham - 25 Jan 07
