Daniel Corby CEO 118 Group launches charitable foundation for local communities

Fast growing internet business, 118 Group announces plans to launch a charitable trust to put something back into local communities

[ClickPress, Thu Aug 03 2006] Daniel Corby, founder and CEO of 118 Group announces plans to develop a charitable foundation to support local communities.

118 Group is based in Essex, with offices in Chelmsford, Harlow and an overseas sales centre based in Salt Lake City, Calcutta.

The group is experiencing rapid growth and has decided it would be a nice gesture to create a charitable trust to raise funds to support the local communities in which it operates.

118 Group has various trading divisions, which include a directory business, 118 trades, a telecoms business – 118 telecoms and other interests in advertising, media and publishing.

Speaking about the initiative, Daniel Corby, CEO said “I believe that too many companies are completely focussed on their own growth and selfish aims and that it would be a nice gesture for us to be that (which is natural) but also to have a friendly caring side, which will create a charitable foundation with which to raise money for good causes and put something back into our local communities. I have worked within businesses previously which have done this with an enormous degree of success and 118 Group has taken the decision to pursue this opportunity”

The charitable foundation is looking for ‘tie ups’ with National charities, maybe NSPCC, RSPB, or other equally good causes to whom it could donate funds starting from January 2007.

118 Group has recently announced plans to open a new state of the art call and customer contact centre in Chelmer Village, Chelmsford and expects to create around 400 new jobs within the next 6 months.
