118 Group announces ethics commitee to stear the business towards AIM float in 2007 / 2008

Fast growing internet business, headed by CEO Daniel Corby has announced the creation of an ethics commitee, to oversee every aspect of the groups activities in advance of planned AIM float in 2007 / 2008

[ClickPress, Mon Aug 07 2006] Daniel Corby, founder and CEO of fast growing internet business, 118 Group which is intending to float on AIM in 2007 / 2008 has announced the appointment of an ethics committee.

The ethics committee will be chaired by an independent non executive of the business, with the mandate of overseeing that every aspect of the 118 business from the inside out, achieves the highest of ethical standards.

The non executive who will oversee the committee will report to the board every month on his findings and will have a completely open run of the business. Speaking about the announcement of the committee, founder and CEO, Daniel Corby said “This is all part of our thinking in creating a completely transparent business for 118 Group in readiness for a float on AIM in 2007 / 2008. The non executive is due to be appointed next week and has a background in Trading Standards and will report to the board each month. The committee will not include any executive of the business, to enable a completely open and non influential review of the business. This will look at the way that the group deals with its customers, its suppliers, the communities in which it operates and it’s stake holders and ensure that 118 Group acts in the most honest and honourable way possible. We are completely focussed on delivering high growth for the business and it is important that this role has a completely open mandate to ensure that the business achieves the highest ethical standards in everything that it does”

118 Group was founded in 2005, by Daniel Corby, and now takes in a number of trading divisions, which include 118 trades, 118 telecoms, 118 gethitched and Fido Local. The group now has interests in Telecoms, advertising and publishing. In June, 118 Group appointed business veteran, Richard Allan to the board as Chairman.

Daniel Corby was previously sales director at mobile phone retailer, phones4u. The board now consists of Richard Allan as Chairman and Bradley Chapman as Commercial Director. Last month, Bradley Chapman announced the opening of a new 450 seat call centre in Chelmer Village, Chelmsford which will create upto 400 new jobs for the county town. 118 trades and Car Auto will be based at the new centre.
