Meet the Media at Connection Day

The Fair Media Council's Connection Day delivers an audience of 700 qualified leads for the communications-related industry.

[ClickPress, Tue Aug 08 2006] The Fair Media Council presents Connection Day on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Long Island Hilton, Huntington. This year’s program includes new workshops, more than 100 media professionals and exhibitor opportunities for communications industry professionals. Keynoting the event at the midday luncheon will be Newsday Columnist Joye Brown.

New workshops include Using Media to Expand Your Busines, Becoming a Quotable Source, Getting on the Cover, Convergence: How Multimedia Is Changing News Coverage, and Blogging: The Power of Citizen Journalism. A complete listing of panels may be found at www.fairmediacouncil.org.

“Connection Day is designed to bring the business community together with the news media,” said Jaci Clement, “The result is a greater understanding of the news for the business people and a greater responsiveness to the community by the news media.”

The annual conference regularly draws 700 participants from the New York metropolitan area. Connection Day tickets are $195 for Council members and $275 for non-members. Tickets include choice of three workshops, networking breaks, admission to all media exhibits, continental breakfast, luncheon with the keynote speaker and an expanded 2006-2007 Media Guide.
