New Technology enables Teachers to Text-Message Parents
Parents can receive text messages from teachers in cases of emergencies through TeacherWeb, the leading provider of web sites for educators.
[ClickPress, Wed Aug 16 2006] TeacherWeb Inc., the leading provider of websites for educators, just announced it is introducing a new, unique service for schools, teachers, and parents for the new school year. Teachers can send automatic text messages to parents' cell phones, alerting them of an important "News Flash". Parents can then check the teacher's TeacherWeb site for specifics.
Currently through TeacherWeb®, parents can receive email notification from their children's teachers, alerting them to check the website for information about special situations, like early school closings, changes in special test schedules, school photo days, money due for field trip, and so forth. With the new technology application, parents can receive similar messages via text messages.
This is one more way in which TeacherWeb® is used to "Enhance communication between the classroom and the home"!
Says Jeanne Bodnar, president of TeacherWeb: “We are the leaders in this field, so we have to be the most innovative. Many parents do not work in front of their computers and need to be alerted when some special is happening. If a teacher deems the message important, he or she can now alert parents via text messaging as well as by email – it’s up to the parents to choose which they prefer.”
Interested teachers and parents should contact TeacherWeb at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jeff@Kgrowth.com, or visit www.TeacherWeb.com.
