Funny car driver Lewis hires PR director

Brandon "the Kid" Lewis, a 20-year-old up-and-comer in NHRA top alcohol funny car drag racing has hired Jimmy Hart to actively pursue sponsorship and exposure.

[ClickPress, Thu Aug 17 2006] Lewis Racing Team announced this week it hired Jimmy Hart to serve as public relations director.

Hart’s primary responsibility will be to publicize top alcohol funny car driver Brandon “The Kid” Lewis. Along with popularizing “The Kid” with fans and media, he will work toward developing sponsor relationships that will be beneficial to the racing team and its partners.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join Lewis Racing at this point. There is undeniable opportunity for all of us to be part of something very special,” Hart said.

“With Brandon’s obvious talent, the potential to brand ‘The Kid’ and promote his sponsors creates the possibility for serious growth on and off the track.”

Hart graduated from the University of Tulsa in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a specialization in Sports Management and Marketing and a minor in Communications.

The 20-year-old Lewis is in his second year racing the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series of the NHRA. This season he has reached the semi-finals at SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas and the O’Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals in Topeka, Kan., but is still looking for his first event win.

After finishing 35th in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series world standings in his first year of competition, “The Kid” currently sits in the No. 20 spot with four months left in the season.

“Now is when everything should really start coming together for us,” Lewis said. “We’re confident that some big wins are just around the corner. With Jimmy on board, our success is bound to grow into a lot more exposure.”
