BCG’s Big Tour 3, which concluded at Manchester United’s Old Trafford football ground on Friday 23rd October, can only be hailed as one thing! The biggest Kitchen, Bathroom & Heating industry success story of 2009.
Conducted over a total of five days, in five different locations - Bristol, Birmingham, Twickenham, Glasgow and Manchester - Big Tour 3 not only received a record number of pre-registration requests to attend, but smashed its previous record for actual attendees. With over 1400 independent Retailers and Merchants from the industry making it to one of the five locations, there was an increase of over 30% on last year’s figures.
"We had an absolutely phenomenal turn-out" said Julie Butcher, BCG’s Marketing Manager and organiser of the event. "We couldn’t believe how many new customers we received through the door, let alone the number of existing customers that turned up to view new and existing product lines being showcased by 40 of our top manufacturers. It was a fabulous success, and something that I feel we got absolutely right this year in terms of planning and marketing. I have extremely high hopes for 2010 and believe that this event could become one of the industry’s leading dates in the calendar."
Not only was the event attended by such a large number of exhibitors, retailers and merchants, but a number of the industry’s leading publications were represented by their Editors, who were invited to an exclusive briefing officially launching the Airmiles Incentive Scheme.
Big Tour 3 received a superb amount of exposure prior to the event this year, due to one of the largest advertising campaigns BCG has conducted to date.
Chris Honer, BCG’s MD commented "It was extremely important for us to raise the profile of BCG and Big Tour 3 and I am thrilled to say the feedback from both customers and suppliers has been tremendous, with a large majority claiming that never before have they been so aware of BCG and its brand through the trade publications they read.
"I would like to take this as an opportunity to thank each and every publication that has supported us over the last six months, for taking the time to talk to us, find out about how we are making a difference to the industry and how supporting our customers through events like Big Tour and the launch of Airmiles is only making us stronger as a competitor within our market.

"I can only hope that we continue to maintain consistency with initiatives and events that are both relevant and interesting to our customers and the industry as a whole."
With the exclusive launch of Airmiles at this year’s Big Tour, BCG has added yet another string to its bow in terms of what is offered to customers. With over 400 customers having already signed up for the scheme, the collection and spending of Airmiles officially takes off from the 1st of January 2010.
Airmiles, along with the proposed larger and higher profile Big Tour 2010 (which is already in planning) and a number of highly competitive product campaigns planned for next year, gives BCG huge momentum moving into the New Year, with yet another massive promotional campaign due to kick off in January.
