118trades appoints Peter Hill as Group FD ahead of planned float

Daniel Corby, the founder and ceo of internet business 118 Group has made a third key appointment to the board ahead of the planned AIM float in 2007 / 2008. Daniel Corby explains.

[ClickPress, Fri Sep 01 2006] 118 Group plc, the business 2 business services company based in Chelmsford (UK) with offices in Harlow and Salt Lake City, Asia has made the 3rd high profile appointment to the main board in as many months, with the appointment of Peter Hill as Group FD.

Peter Hill, who has previously been Finance Director at Dorma Door Controls Limited and ME Media Limited takes up the appointment of Finance Director at 118 Group plc from November 2006.

Speaking about the appointment, Daniel Corby, founder and CEO 118 Group said “We’re delighted that Peter Hill is joining the main board from November, at a very exciting time for the business. Peter brings some major skills to the board and is an exceptionally talented FD. 118 Group plc is preparing for some major growth in the coming months as the recent launch of Fido Local and the acquisition of Car Auto Limited are fully rolled out and integrated into the group. 118 Group is preparing to open a state of the art call centre and customer contact centre at Chelmer Village, Chelmsford, which is capable of housing upto 400 additional people to support the group growth plans. Further more, 118 Group plc is preparing for a possible AIM float, which could happen as early as 2007 / 2008 – the purpose of which will be to raise finance to fund further acquisitions, key to the business”

118 Group plc has made 2 other key appointments in the last 2 months, with the appointment of both Richard Allan as Chairman and Hugh Craen as non executive director. 118 Group is also responsible for 118trades – the directory service, 118gethitched – a wedding business, 118telecom – a reseller of memorable numbers, 118mobile – a mobile phone connection business and Fido Local – a free distribution magazine based on local content.
