Cat Galaxy To Air 9/11 Tribute

Cat Galaxy has scheduled a 9/11 tribute tonight on Meow Mixing Monday beginning at 7pm (9pm Central, 10pm Eastern). The station has scheduled a set called Salute To America: The Tribute To 9/11 which will not only honor America's fighting men and women of our armed forces but also to remember those who lost their lives on that tragic day back in 2001.

Another addition to the tribute on the broadcast will be a salute to the animal rescue agencies who also went into the areas affected by the disaster to help the animals in need. Some stuck in buildings near Ground Zero without food or water.

"Everyone remembers what the firefighters and police did to help out when the World Trade Center towers fell, but animal rescues like the ASPCA also stepped in to help out those animals in areas affected by the devastation that were in need. We felt they too deserved to be remembered for their efforts and contributions," said Nohl Rosen of Cat Galaxy.

Rosen also wants people to know that animal rescue groups worked tirelessly to re-unite people with their cats, dogs and other creatures when the tragedy happened as well as provide medical treatment.

"They (the animal rescues) worked non-stop in this effort and often times we forget that they too made a heroic contribution. Animals also suffered in the attacks. Some went for days without either food or water, so they too needed help and were waiting to be rescued. The animal rescue agencies that pitched in to help on that day, should not be forgotten for their efforts," Rosen added.
