GUNNING FOR SUCCESS WITH THE ACTIVITY PEOPLE

In recent years, the pursuit of Shooting has undergone somewhat of a resurgence and the owner of a Shooting Range, Franklin Huntley, believes that he knows why this is the case.

[ClickPress, Thu Sep 14 2006] In recent years, the pursuit of Shooting has undergone somewhat of a resurgence and the owner of a Shooting Range, Franklin Huntley, believes that he knows why this is the case. "It would not be unfair to say that Shooting has somewhat of a stuffy image and this is, undoubtedly, restrictive to those who may want to try their hand at the pursuit," explains Franklin, as he considers the origins of the sport, "it is typically considered a pursuit for the upper classes and so forth but this shouldn't be the case at all...everyone should feel welcome to give it a go."

Franklin goes on to talk about what he thinks has changed that has seen a turn-a-round in the number of people taking up shooting pursuits, "recently a number of websites have come on to the market and done a brilliant job of marketing shooting and making it more appealing to younger generations. I saw websites like The Activity People and The Big Shoot on the internet and was extremely impressed with the way they presented themselves. I asked to become one of their affiliate Shooting venues and, since I went on their database, my bookings have been through the roof. The best part of it though is the mixture of bookings I get now. We cater for all ages now whereas before it tended to be the older groups and I'm in no doubt that The Activity People and The Big Shoot are responsible for this."

Both The Activity People and The Big Shoot offer a variety of Shooting Pursuits and this is something that Franklin sees as being key to their influence, "here at my Shooting Range, I offer Clay Pigeon Shooting and Archery and it was brilliant the way they took my venue on board and marketed it so superbly. Both of my ranges are exceptionally busy and, looking at their website, I saw a few other activities that I might consider offering in the future."

Shooting, like a phoenix from the flames, is emerging as one of the most popular Activity Day pursuits amongst younger groups such as Stag and Hen Parties as well as remaining popular with the more traditonal groups and Franklin Huntley, for one, sees The Activity People and The Big Shoot as integral to this success.
