Vocalo.org’s Create-Your-Own-Radio-Broadcast Training in Chesterton: January 11

What: Vocalo.org, 89.5 FM, WBEW, invites its listeners and the public to a training on January 11. Participants will learn how they can share their thoughts and opinions on the Vocalo.org radio broadcast and online. Participants will learn how to navigate the Vocalo.org website, upload and showcase their own media and record their own audio pieces using an ordinary telephone.

The training will be held at the Westchester Public Library Service Center, 100 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton, Indiana (the building is next to the Public Library’s main building). The training is free and open to the public.

Why: "The input and active participation of our listeners is integral to the sound and success of our broadcast," says Vocalo.org interim general manager Adam Yoffe. "Teaching our audience how to get their opinions and voices on the radio and online is a crucial part of our organization’s mission to lift up voices typically underrepresented in media."

Who: Vocalo.org host producer Sarah Lu will be the instructor.

When: The training will be held on Monday, January 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
