[ClickPress, Wed Sep 20 2006] As part of the ITS World Congress & Exhibition, the French national pavilion organised by ATEC (the French Association for the Development of Transport, Environment and Traffic Technology) will showcase the best of French Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) technology. The event will be held in London from 9 to 12 October 2006.

The ITS World Congress will present the latest innovations in the field, using various media and a range of conferences. The French Pavilion, organised by ATEC, will provide users in search of solutions, innovations and information with the necessary elements to help them set up intelligent transport systems. The main French players participating in the ITS World Congress & Exhibition include the French government, the ITS-France Association, competitiveness clusters, engineering firms and young innovative companies.

The following companies will be represented on the French Pavilion (NoH23 – Excel London): ASCOM SA, ISIS and EGIS Projects of the EGIS GROUPE, i-TRANS / Transports Terrestres Promotion, ITS BRETAGNE, ITS FRANCE, JB Conseils, MAYALYS, NEAVIA Technologies, NFX-Nord France Experts, VINCI Energies, and the French Ministry of Transport. Further information about the participants is available upon request from FTPB.

The ITS World Congress will consider the best ways to improve road safety, reduce congestion and provide real-time information. Conferences at the event will also consider the methods and techniques currently available on the market for enforcing regulations, as well as the best ways to optimise commercial vehicle rounds. The ITS World Congress will also consider the monitoring and management tools that can be used to improve the performance of transport companies, and how multimodal services of passenger transport can be promoted.

Continuous innovation is an essential condition for the enduring and sustainable development of transport. It entails exchanges of experiences and co-operative ventures that the participants in the French Pavilion are keen to develop during the fair.

About ATEC

The Association for the Development of Transport, Environment and Traffic Technology (French acronym: ATEC) was formed in 1973 by engineers specialising in land transport in urban areas. It is now the primary locus for meetings and exchanges between experts in these subjects.

From the start, the association attempted to bring together players from three complementary areas: central government, the private sector, as well as local authorities and para-governmental organisations/agencies. It is this tripartite base which gives ATEC strength and singularity in its field — transport and its environment. Indeed, it is a complex area in which full use of the available skills, technologies and powers of decisions can only be obtained through the close co-operation of the players involved, and thanks to a wide circulation of ideas and information, in order to better make choices today that will affect the future.

About ITS France

ATEC created Intelligent Transport Systems France (ITS France) in the spring of 2000, in response to a genuine need felt by players from the different sectors involved in the promotion of intelligent transport systems. Its aim is to help develop the market for new information and communication technologies in France and across French-speaking countries, in the ITS field.
