1,000 new jobs created at 118 Group Holdings plc in Chelmsford

Daniel Corby, CEO 118 Group has announced upto 1,000 new sales jobs at fast growing internet business, 118 Group in Chelmsford and the company now wishes to build relationships with recruitment agencies to provide quality people.

[ClickPress, Thu Oct 05 2006] 118 Group Holdings plc has today started a major recruitment drive for the immediate expansion of the group and the group businesses.

A new state of the art call centre opens at Chelmer Village, Chelmsford, on 16th October and the business is now recruiting 350 additional telesales executives for the business. The business takes in brands including 118trades, 118telecoms, 118gethitched, Fido Local, Tasty Mobile, 118 Mobile and Tastycars.

The group is looking for outgoing individuals to join the business, based in Chelmsford. Speaking about the announcement, Daniel Corby CEO 118 Group Holdings plc said “our need to recruit lots of quality people now, is massive. We have vacancies in telesales, customer services, accounts and sales support functions. The business is preparing to grow rapidly through organic and acquisitions style growth and has recently raised significant development capital from external share holders ahead of a planned AIM float in 2007 / 2008. In addition to the 350 seat operation going live on 16 October, the company has also had an offer accepted on a 17,500 square feet facility, also in Chelmsford, which could go live from Mid December, making 118 Group one of the largest employers in Chelmsford and indeed Essex”

118 Group Holdings currently employs around 100 people in Chelmsford and the new sites will allow the head count to grow to 1,000 people by Mid December subject to recruitment.
