Microsoft and Russoft association

The representatives of 7 Russoft companies attended the meeting: Arcadia, DataArt, EPAM, Lanit Tercom, Murano Soft, Reksoft, SoftJoys.

[ClickPress, Thu Oct 05 2006] This meeting was another milestone in developing cooperation between Microsoft and the Russian IT industry. Microsoft’s international activity in the fields of professional education and certification as well as supporting promising start-ups in emerging IT regions has been particularly fruitful in Russia – one of the main destinations of outsourcing and developing world-standard software products.

Russoft association as the main representative of Russian IT enterprises and the credible brand-bearer established connections with Microsoft - the leading software empire - long ago. The majority of Russian software-makers are nowadays using Microsoft technologies while developing independent products or rendering services to Western IT-houses.

This background helped both parties accomplish mutual understanding of further cooperation. By signing the Memorandum Microsoft, besides other clauses, agreed to “provide specialized trainings for Russoft members aimed to stimulate Microsoft ecosystem product development initiatives” and to support “marketing and technical efforts of Russoft members in promoting Microsoft ecosystem products to the international markets”.

Microsoft Corporate VP Sanjay Parthasarathy expressed willingness to help the Russian side promote branding and innovation initiatives and Russoft President Valentin Makarov emphasized the readiness of Russian IT business to become more transparent and helpful for foreign enterprises. The meeting ended optimistically. As Mr. Parthasarathy put it: “Don’t hesitate to ask, and you will get”.
