UCanspeakup is presenting its 2006 Benefit Award Dinner for the Awareness and Prevention of Child Abuse on Thursday November 9th from 6:30-10pm at Palmira's Italian Restaurant in Brooklyn Heights, NY, with Keynote Speaker Vivian Farmery, Manhattan Borough President Stringer's Appointee and Executive Director of Just Tell, a new non-profit whose mission is to encourage children who are being sexually abused to disclose their abuse.


[ClickPress, Tue Oct 24 2006] UCanspeakup is presenting its 2006 Benefit Award Dinner for the Awareness and Prevention of Child Abuse on Thursday November 9th from 6:30-10pm at Palmira's Italian Restaurant in Brooklyn Heights, NY, with Keynote Speaker Vivian Farmery, Manhattan Borough President Stringer's Appointee and Executive Director of Just Tell, a new non-profit whose mission is to encourage children who are being sexually abused to disclose their abuse.

Sponsorship packages range from $250-$1,000, and tickets are $125.

UCanspeakup was started by 12- year old author Zykeya McLeod of An Inner Child Speaks, and is operated by Executive Director Terri Patterson, MSEd.

Mission Statement and Meaning for UCanspeakUp
UCanspeakup was designed to encourage youth to speak out about feelings, problems, and situations they may be facing. The organization strives to create opportunities to better the lives of young people by providing social awareness, educational importance, and nurture; and guide young people by offering performance writing literature, character building activities, seminars and events, funded by raising money through donations and fundraising events.

UCanspeakup will raise $1 billion dollars over the next 10 years to provide scholarships for ten thousand children, which will enable them to become responsible and productive citizens.

This program has been made possible in part through the sponsorship of The Field.
