Thirteen More Asian Journals Accepted Into Thomson ISI Web of Science
[ClickPress, Wed Nov 01 2006] Blackwell Publishing is pleased to announce that an additional thirteen more Asian journals from its list have been successful in achieving subject-specific Thomson ISI Web of Science listings.
Clinical and Experimental Optometry is the latest journal in the Blackwell Publishing title list to gain acceptance into the Science Citation Index Expanded.
Other titles recently included into this list include the Australasian Journal of Dermatology, Entomological Science, Plant Species Biology, Weed Biology and Management, Animal Science Journal and Anatomical Science International.
With 90% of the biological science journals published by Blackwell on behalf of Japanese associations now ISI listed, Editor of Plant Species Biology – Dr. Toshihiko Hara – noted, “The scholarly community has given due recognition to the quality and contribution of Japanese biological sciences to the literature, and I am extremely pleased to have our journal benefit from Blackwell’s publishing expertise in this regard.”
On the Social Sciences front, Australian Economic Review and the Australasian Journal of Aging are the two latest journals to gain acceptance into the Thomson ISI Web of Science Social Sciences Citation Index. It joins China & World Economy, Australian Economic History Review, Abacus and Pacific Economic Review in being indexed in the database in 2006. This feat is a significant breakthrough for the Asian and Australasian accounting and economics journals – signalling a greater representation in the ISI lists.
“We chose to partner with Blackwell because of their excellent reputation for quality, their international ties with societies and libraries, and their publishing and marketing expertise,” said Professor Yu Yongding, Editor-in-chief of China & World Economy.
Graeme Dean, Editor-in-Chief of Abacus, added, “I’m happy to say that our publishing partnership with Blackwell was instrumental in enabling us to achieve our growth objectives– as demonstrated clearly in the achievement of this fantastic milestone.”
“This reinforces the fact that Blackwell truly understands the needs of our society partners, and is evidence of our high quality publishing services which help ensure that journals reach their full potential,” said President of Blackwell Publishing in Asia, Mark Robertson.
“This achievement is also further evidence of the soundness of Blackwell's strategy set over 15 years ago to expand its services to societies in the region, making us the leading publisher in Asia, including Japan and Australia, as well as the world.”
