Office Professionals Rally to ‘Creating Excellence’ Theme

After one of the most successful conferences ever, a one day event aboard HMS Belfast on the Thames, Linda Barton, chairman of the Institute of Qualified Private Secretaries (IQPS), the UK’s leading association for office professionals, has a serious challenge. [ClickPress, Fri Nov 03 2006] After one of the most successful conferences ever, a one day event aboard HMS Belfast on the Thames, Linda Barton, chairman of the Institute of Qualified Private Secretaries (IQPS), the UK’s leading association for office professionals, has a serious challenge. How do you find a more dramatic venue for 2007 – the organisation’s 50th year?

Over 100 delegates attended this year’s IQPS AGM and conference. In the afternoon a series of talks and workshops were led by Anne Lonsdale of leadership development company vita-brevis and Dr David Hamilton author of ‘It’s the Thought that Counts’, supported by Wendy Birse. Sessions reflected the conference theme ‘Creating Excellence’ and focussed on the crucial role of appreciation.

The event gave members many opportunities to network and concluded with a champagne reception hosted by conference sponsors Avery Dennison Office Products. Attendees all received a product samples pack donated by the sponsors, including the Avery Wizard software CD for mail merge and label printing. Members and other office professionals who missed out on the free CD can download it via a special link on the IQPS web site www.iqps.org. IQPS brings together and recognises office professionals from a variety of business areas. With a growing membership of around 2000 members, the organisation is dedicated to raising the standards and professionalism of office staff.
