Bowen Family Homes Wins Four OBIE Awards


Atlanta-based builder Bowen Family Homes won four OBIE Awards at the 2006 Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association's 26th Annual OBIE Awards, including awards for Best Web Site and personal achievement awards for sales staff.


[ClickPress, Tue Nov 14 2006] Bowen Family Homes had one of its best years yet at the 2006 Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s 26th Annual OBIE Awards Saturday, November 4. The home builder’s sales staff was the big winner, receiving three OBIEs, while the company Web site also brought home a Gold Award.

“The Bowen Family Homes team has worked extremely hard this past year, and this work paid off at the OBIEs,” said Mike Phelps, one of the owners of Bowen Family Homes. “The OBIEs are judged by our peers in the real estate industry, adding credibility to the three Golds and the Silver Award we received. We’re honored to be recognized among the best-of-the-best of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s membership.”

One Gold Award named the Bowen Family Homes Web site as the Best Web Site for a Builder/Developer. In 2005, the site contributed to 23 percent of the company’s sales, and it has contributed to 33 percent of sales this year. The site was also judged on ease of navigation, unique features, providing information that makes the home buying process easier, number of hits on the site, and traffic generated by the site.

Four Bowen Family Homes Sales Agents shared three personal achievement awards. These achievement awards reflect the agents’ hard work, dedication, involvement in the industry, knowledge of home building and continued professionalism.

Suzanne Springfield, Sales Agent at Berkeley Terrace in Norcross, won Gold as Rookie Salesperson of the Year. Springfield sold out Berkeley Terrace in less than one year, averaging 10 sales per month and making it one of the company’s top selling communities.

.Brandi Helvey and Lori Mason, Sales Agents at Ashmore in Duluth, shared the Gold Award for Sales Team of the Year. They sold 51 homes in just nine days during the grand opening at Ashmore. At the time, homes in the community were priced in the high $300,000s. The two have sold 85 homes in the past year with a sales volume of more than $31.6 million.

David Kunis, who served as Sales Agent at Shadowbrook at Town Center in Suwanee, won Silver for Salesperson of the Year. Kunis sold 117 townhomes and single family homes during 2005, achieving more than $25 million in sales volume.
