ON CUE FOR SUCCESS

The UAE Snooker Team got their title hopes off to a flying start on Saturday when they jetted off to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific for the China Red-Bull Team Snooker Invitational Championship 2005, being held in Shenzhen from June 19-26. The contest is a Snooker Team Challenge event and the UAE team of Obaid Khalifa (Captain), Mohammed Al Joaker, Mohammed Shahab and Khalid Lootah (Manager) will be facing off against some of the best teams in Asia.

The contest certainly promises to be a challenging one for the UAE team and an important preparation for the 21st Asian Snooker Championship 2005, which will be held in Thailand from July 24-31. Altogether 8 teams have been invited and, apart from the Team event to be competed on the multi-sport format, there will be a singles event, with the final being televised live in Beijing.
