Lifecooler.pt Shows Style Trends and the Week’s Good Restaurants in Portugal
The trends of good life in Portugal are once again in the eye of the Lifecooler.pt. Portal. The “Vintage style” and two restaurants in Lisbon and in Tavira (Algarve) are just some of the suggestions of what is in.
[ClickPress, Mon Nov 20 2006] The Lifecooler.pt “Coolmeter” keeps at it and every week you can find which are the trendiest places to go to in Portugal. Here are the latest highlights.
1 – Vintage Stores –“Démodé” is now “in fashion”
Fashion comes and goes and in this process it is the vintage stores that offer the trendiest suggestions that cross many fashion eras. And when we speak of fashion it’s not only related to clothes but also to hairstyles, decoration vinyl records, wallpaper and even music and TV series from the eighties... Nostalgia is more than ever in fashion...
2 - Cop’ 3 – the 2006 Chef award
Inaugurated last August in Lisbon, this modern place that recreates the old taverns has a superb dishes prepared by Nuno Mendes, the winner of the 2006 Chef of the Year. The tastes here are traditional but somehow updated (the “gaspacho” here is solid). As the name indicates, wine is an important element here and the glasses are tall... A must.
3 – Rubber boots– “You must remember this...”
Last Autumn/Winter boots invaded shop windows and every trendy lady had a pair. Cowboy and Eskimo style boots were the favourite to fight the cold winter. This year it’s the rubber boots that seem to be in. They look good with raincoats and remind us of the 80’s. They are light and water resistant but colour is their main feature. Of one single colour or with applications that re certainly here to stay for some time...
4 - Confeitaria Tavi - Oporto
It opened in 1935 but it’s the more modern and updated look that call the attention. However, the stone walls and photographs of the past take yo back to the times of the old Foz. The restaurant is on the first floor and one can see right into the kitchen, so of course there are no secrets. There is a pastry, sweets, ice-cream area… all in one place. There are more than enough reasons to come for a visit.
