Thomson Digital Poster Network Wins Top Retail Systems Accolade
TFM Networks and Remote Media’s digital advertising and information network wins award for revenue, sponsorship and marketing potential
[ClickPress, Tue Nov 21 2006] A pioneering new digital poster network launched at 100 Thomson Travel stores across the UK has received a top marketing technology award for its innovative revenue generation and advertising potential.
Thomson, part of TUI UK, the UK’s largest holiday company, won “Best Use of In-store Marketing Technology in Retail” at this year’s Retails Systems Awards, for its multi-site digital poster network, which presents customers with up-to-the-minute travel news while also offering premium-rate advertising to promote products and services.
The multi-site digital posters have been developed by TFM Networks, the UK’s fastest-growing virtual network operator, and media solutions specialist Remote Media, and enable retailers to maximise on captive in-store audiences for corporate advertising and brand awareness.
An added benefit of the poster networks is their ability to generate additional revenue through advertising and media sales opportunities with non-competing third-party companies. Award judges were impressed by the fact that third-party sponsorship and advertising had not only covered the cost of the campaign for Thomson, but had also succeeded in generating an additional monthly revenue stream.
The digital signage network consists of LCD and plasma display units from Remote Media, with the network infrastructure powered by TFM Networks, to deliver continuously updated, real-time customer information or advertising to multiple sites across a company’s network.
