www.easyodds.com News Alert; Bolton v Chelsea Betting Odds
Another big game for champions Chelsea, after holding Man Utd to a draw last Sunday, as they stay up north to face an in-form Bolton.
[ClickPress, Tue Nov 28 2006] The Trotter’s are on the crest of a wave at the moment sitting in third place and will fancy their chances of taking another big scalp after beating Arsenal at the Reebok last weekend. P14 W7 D3 L4.
Chelsea’s title rivals Man Utd also have a game on Wednesday at home against Everton, so any slip-ups from the champions and the gap between the two could easily be extended beyond the three points come 10pm on Wednesday evening.
Not many teams go to the Reebok and get a result and after all Bolton only lost three times in front of their home fans all last season. However Chelsea will know the importance of this game with the potential points swing at the top and I expect them to come back south with all three points. They are around the 8/11 mark in the match odds, and if you can double them up with another match then that looks worth taking, but the one stand out trend is that Chelsea’s last three visits to Bolton have all resulted in 2-0 wins to the champions. A repeat of this can be backed at BestPrice 7/1 and as short as 5/1.
If you fancy Bolton to get a shock win then the 9/2 on offer for a home side in form looks big and might tempt a few people in, while if they go out to frustrate Mourhino’s men then the draw at around 13/5 is another option. All this said I still can’t see past a Chelsea win, with them knowing this set of midweek games could be a pivotal point in the season for the teams at the top.
The other market that caught my eye if you think the 8/11 is a bit skinny was Chelsea to ‘win to nil’ at around 6/4. The Blues don’t draw many games (only 2 this season) and they have won six of their 14 league games already to nil.
Also while looking back a recent head-to-heads John Terry has a good record of finding the back of the net at Bolton scoring in two of his last 3 visits and is 20/1 to score first and 11/2 at anytime. While the other stand-out player was Frank Lampard. He’s netted three of Chelsea’s last 4 goals at The Reebok and is available at around 9/4 anytime and 7/1 first.
Recommended bets
3pts Chelsea to win to nil
1pt Chelsea 2-0
2pts Lampard to score
½ pt Terry First goal
