www.easyodds.com News Alert; Barcelona v Bremen Betting Odds 19:45 Tues, SS2

Even though domestic clubs, Chelsea and Liverpool, are playing tonight on ITV their respective games are pretty much non-events with both sides already through to the next stages.

[ClickPress, Tue Dec 05 2006] So with theses matches to bypass all eyes will be on champions Barcelona, who after drawing two and losing one of their five group games have found themselves needing to beat German side Werder Bremen tonight at the Nou Camp.

A draw or better for the German’s will see them go through with Chelsea, but the 15/2 on offer for them to get all three points reflects how hard it is to win at Barcelona.

The Spanish champions have not lost any of their last 16 home Champions League ties, but they have not been as convincing in front of their home fans as some might think.

Amazingly they are still the second favourites in the outright market, despite potentially going out tonight, at 11/2, however if they do survive this evening then expect that price to come in a point or two.

For those of you that think the shock is on tonight, they how about delving into the UEFA Cup outright market, with all the third placed teams falling into that competition after Wednesday. Sevilla are the current favourites at 6/1 to win that, but if Barcelona find themselves in Europe’s lesser tournament then expect them to be the new short-priced market leader.

Barcelona are BestPrice 4/9 to win tonight and many will be lumping on that with defeat of Frank Rijkaard’s men looking unheard of. However Bremen are no mugs, they are currently the best team in Germany are were the better side when the pair met earlier in the group drawing 1-1 after Lionel Messi grabbed a last min leveller.

Messi will be out tonight and they are still without striker Eto’o and they have looked a different side without two of their main players.
Backers of the 4/9 should note that Barcelona have failed this season in a lot of home crunch matches and at the price they are worth taking on, with the draw at around 7/2 looking the value option.

In the scoring markets Ronaldinho will have his supporters looking sure to be fired up here at 5/4 to score, but for me the better option but be to go with Gudjohnson at the same price with the former Chelsea striker playing a more central role up front.

Recommended Bets - 3pts - Draw
Recommended Bets - 2pts – Gudjohnson to score
