London 2012 bid strikes Gold in Singapore


The Autism Awareness Campaign UK sent their warm congratulations to Lord Sebastian Coe and the London 2012 team for winning the bid in Singapore. It was a historic victory. The Olympic and Paralympic Games will be coming to London.


[ClickPress, Wed Jul 06 2005] The Autism Awareness Campaign UK thanked the people of London and across the UK for supporting the the bid. The campaign said the games coming to London would be wonderful for all people with disabilities.

'I want to pay a tribute to Lord Sebastian Coe and the London 2012 team for coming up with a superb presentation; to Sir Steve Redgrave and the long list of British Olympic Champions including England football captain David Beckham for doing us proud in Singapore. Even the Prime Minister energised the bid and his lobbying in Singapore was an outstanding success. This is London's finest hour. ' said Ivan Corea, a London 2012 Ambassador.

London will organise the greatest show on earth in 2012 - the bid had vision and Seb Coe ran a marvellous race striking gold in Singapore. The Olympic and Paralympic games will be good for Britain, good for London, good for all communities and for all people with disabilities.

'I just want to thank all communities for supporting the London 2012 bid,' he said.
