Betting Update; Soapstar Superstar with the bookmakers making the Alan Fletcher their 13/8 favourite

After its success in 2006 ITV are bringing back their hit show Soapstar Superstar in early January 2007, where once again the leading televisions soap actors and actress will battle it out for the title.

[ClickPress, Fri Jan 05 2007] If you can't remember the format, 11 stars of your favourite soaps, including Coronation Street, Eastenders Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, will show-off their singing talents in a X Factor style show. Each day a contestant will be eliminated after the audience vote for their worst two acts, with the public then having the final say on the bottom pair.

Fern Briton and Ben Shepard continue to do the presenting and will be once again joined by a panel of well known judges, this year including Zoë Ball and Martine McCutcheon.

Last time Corrie cleaned up after actors Richard Fleeshman and Andy Whyment came first and second with Lucy Pargeter from Emmerdale ending up in the bronze position.

The betting as always with these types of shows will be competitive and frantic with many twists and turns based on each performance, but with it being an ITV show then you don't have to be Hercule Poirot to work out that one of that channels soaps (Corrie or Emmerdale) might again do well!
