Tarpaflex Working with BTNEP to Help Clean Up the Gulf Spill

Furthering their work on the devastating oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Tarpaflex UK’s sister distributer and leading US tarpaulin distributer Tarpaflex US are working together with environmental specialists Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP) to help clean up the Gulf.

As well as donating a substantial amount of dollars to the clean up already, Bob Page, managing director feels strongly about this issue and has kindly offered up a selection of heavy-duty tarpaulins, camouflage tarpaulins and canvas tarpaulins to help aid the rescue workers and construction workers. "Tarpaulins will play an essential part in the clean up" explains Bob, "the versatility of their uses, their tough durability and their sheer size in some cases will help provide shelter for wildlife, help transport sea life and help cover ongoing construction work around the area. The tarpaulins will also prove useful for when the classic southern weather kicks in, hurricanes and extremely hot weather could potentially hinder the clean up and we want to help BTNEP and other volunteers be as prepared as possible".

The BTNEP in particular are dedicated to the preservation of wetlands and Bob Page himself, who lives in Florida is passionate about preserving his home "We take good care of the environment surrounding the Devon based office in England, and we want to help as much as we can with the environment surrounding the Naples head office" continues Bob. "Working with an already prestigious charity such as BTNEP also gives us the opportunity to help clean up faster. International shipping firm UPS have also been kind enough to offer to ship the tarps to the Gulf of Mexico on behalf of Tarpaflex".
