VITeff 2005 sparkles for your pleasure

Four major events are planned this year. The European Technical Meetings will start at 2pm on Wednesday 19 October in partnership with Oséo Anvar. These meetings, organised by the Centre Relais Innovation Grand Est, are this year devoted to ‘Wine and sparkling beverage technologies’ and will be in the form of prearranged private meetings between managers of companies, technical centres and research laboratories from all over Europe. The meetings aim to help attendees promote their technology, meet future European partners and keep informed about the latest innovations.

The 4th Rencontres Espace Champagne will be at 3pm on the same day. Organised by Crédit Agricole Nord-Est, the meeting is centred on the theme ‘Gastronomy and Champagne, from sparkle to pleasure’. Scientists, œnologists, sommeliers and well-known chefs will discuss the special link between Champagne and various foods. The meeting is sponsored this year by Professor Christian Cabrol, President of the association ADICARE (which fights cardiovascular diseases), who wrote the preface to the guide Vin et santé (Wine and health).

The Oenologists' Technical Day will address the subject of ‘Vinification of sparkling wines in wood’ on Thursday 20 October from 8am to 1pm. It will extend the previous day's theme to all sparkling wines and not only Champagne.
The European Market Opportunities Meeting, organised by the bank Crédit Agricole du Nord-Est, INTERVITIS and the COHESIUM Group, will be held on Thursday 20 October from 2pm to 4pm. Four markets will be analysed – Germany, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CCEE), Italy and Spain.

The organisers have tried to find ways of giving the days aimed at highly technical aspects a more light-hearted note, with moments like the cocktail lunch, the Espace Champagne conference organised by Crédit Agricole or the gala dinner sponsored by and organised with Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.

VITeff 2005 is already a success and the exhibition space is fully booked – 350 French and foreign exhibitors have reserved and more than 16,000 professional visitors are expected at the site, which will cover 25,000m2 of exhibition space.
