Greenfield Ethanol signs agreement with world class technology provider, ICM

ICM to provide engineering services for the ethanol plant in Johnstown, Ontario.

[ClickPress, Tue Jan 23 2007] GreenField Ethanol announced today that it has signed agreements with ICM, Inc – a global leader in the design and construction of ethanol plants – to provide its technology and engineering services for GreenField’s 200-million-litre ethanol plant under construction in Johnstown, Ontario.

Under the agreement, GreenField is licensed to use ICM’s intellectual property for the design, construction and operation of the Eastern Ontario plant, slated to be operational in 2008. As well, the two companies have entered an engineering services license agreement, commissioning ICM to provide engineering services for the plant.

ICM technology was also used in GreenField’s plant in Varennes, Quebec, slated to open in February.

Founded in 1995 and based in Kansas, ICM is an industry leader in the design, contruction and support of ethanol plants using corn grain. ICM is a key innovator and advocate in the ethanol industry.

GreenField Ethanol, formerly Commercial Alcohols, is Canada’s leading ethanol producer. The company produces 215-million litres a year of corn-based ethanol at its plants in Chatham and Tiverton, Ontario. A third facility in Varennes, Quebec is slated to open in February 2007 and two more plants are under construction in Hensall and Johnstown, Ontario, and will be operational in 2008. GreenField Ethanol will be one of the top producers in North America with five operating plants, producing more than 700-million litres of ethanol per year by 2008.

GreenField’s ethanol is available at more than 1,500 gas stations across Canada.
