Emerald Signs Agreement with Council of Australian University Librarians

Emerald Group Publishing is pleased to announce its recent deal with the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL). This five- year consortial agreement provides CAUL’s 1.1 million users with access to Emerald’s high quality collection of online digital journals and databases.

Established in 1965, CAUL’s members are library directors whose parent institutions are full members of the Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee. It seeks to ensure a common voice and representation for all university libraries, provide a forum for discussion, and promote common interests. CAUL’s consortial purchasing program, CEIRC, comprises 39 Australian and eight New Zealand universities, plus another 26 research institutions, government departments and academic institutions in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Serving this extremely large membership with its very high usage demands a reliable, easy to access service. Emerald’s journal collection is now so well proven, with a very large base of existing users, that CAUL were able to choose Emerald with confidence. CAUL’s stated aim is that of “Improving access by the staff and students of Australian universities to the information resources that are fundamental to the advancement of teaching, learning and research”.

The agreement with Emerald allows CAUL to meet its objectives though the provision of innovative, academically rigorous and easily accessed collections of peer-reviewed journals, information sources and databases. This successful agreement with a prestigious academic partner reinforces Emerald’s mission to be the publisher of choice for academics, researchers and professionals in the fields of management, information science and engineering.
