NYFS Focuses On Fans For Spring Training

NYFS (www.nyfuturestars.com) has reloaded their site and launched a spring training directory at onhutchinsonlisland.com to provide the best spring training resource for St. Lucie County.

[ClickPress, Thu Feb 08 2007] Spring training is only a week away. The whole baseball world is gearing up for a new season, and NYFS has redefined their mission and is ready for 2007 Spring Training at http://www.nyfuturestars.com

Over the last few months, NYFS rebuilt nyfuturestars.com and redoubled their efforts to bring more great news and history and information about the Mets and their minor league affiliates to more fans than ever. Since 2001, their original concept focused on the future of the organization and the minor leaguers, but the site has grown into so much more than that.

NYFS now houses player records for every player in team history. They have photos and stats and profiles for minor leaguers who played in the Mets system but never wore a pro - let alone big league Mets - uniform. There are over 8,000 photos and thousands of stat lines for thousands of players.

NYFS has created new features, like the unique NYFS Linkifier, which turns every players name into a link to their profile and if you roll your mouse the name, it pops up a photo so you can see the player people are talking about (e.g., Jose Reyes, Edgardo Alfonzo, Darryl Strawberry) every time someone types it in a story or on the boards.

NYFS has also developed into a thriving community. Thousands of Mets fans visit the site every day. They have made more stuff available to more users by removing registration as a requirement for reading their content. They've added a blog-type tool so registered users can contribute content to the site, and participate in the recording of the history and daily happenings of the organization. There are new searchable user profiles, with virtual "neighborhoods" so you can find NYFSers and Mets fans near you, and they can find you.

NYFS has also created a spring training directory at http://www.onhutchinsonisland.com to give players and fans and their families a directory of things to do and places to go while they are in Florida for spring training.

NYFS has all the angles covered. It's your best research tool, information source, interactive user community, and daily fix for Mets and spring training coverage anywhere.

Literally hundreds of Mets fans scour the Internet 24 hours a day for breaking news, player transactions, rumors, reports, and more. The instant there is any potential story, there is a live discussion of it within the NYFS community area. When possibility becomes fact, dozens of community members race to publish the transaction, and opinions, and links to information about the players involved in the deal. Within 24 hours, player profiles at NYFS are updated or added to the databases. Rosters are changed and the player is instantly recorded in team history.

With 12,000 registered users - each empowered to "cover" the organization - NYFS has more writers, more researchers, and more staff covering any one team than any other news source anywhere.

When you register and join the NYFS Community, you become part of the best community of people on the Internet. You become a beat writer, a better fan, and part of the team that records the history of our favorite baseball team.

They say history is written by the winners. You're A Mets fan. Start writing. :)
