[ClickPress, Fri Feb 09 2007] The Napa Valley College Board of Trustees will welcome a new colleague this evening as newly-appointed businesswoman Brenda Knight officially begins her first term. An informal reception scheduled for 6:30 p.m. will be immediately followed by a public session and oath of office at 7:00 p.m. The appointment will take place at Canyon Oaks Elementary School in American Canyon, CA (USA).
Knight serves as president and CEO of Brenda Knight and Associates Consulting Services. She is also the founder of "Ladies in Red," a women's empowerment organization in the San Francisco CA Bay Area. She earned an A. A. degree from Laney College in Oakland, CA, and her bachelor's degree in business management from St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA.
"I am truly honored to have an opportunity to serve my community in this capacity," said Knight. "Community Colleges are hidden jewels in the community it serves. Through their educational opportunities, they provide a better quality of life for the community and its workforce."
