A local Edinburgh business man treats his staff to a rip-roaring day of Karting action at one of Scotland's premier circuits.
[ClickPress, Mon Feb 19 2007] Edinburgh undoubtedly offers spectacular architecture and rolling countrysides but local business man, Liam Whittaker wanted something a good deal more action packed to reward his staff for hitting those monthly sales targets! This was when he noticed the opening of a new karting circuit close to his business premises, “I had been looking for something to reward my sales team for all their hard work and was really struggling to think of anything but, as it turned out, the answer was pretty much right on my doorstep”, says Liam of how he stumbled across his team building adventure.
“I didn’t really know how to go about organising it because I have a large workforce, so I spoke to the Paintball Guide Karting Sales Consultants who run the venue and they were really helpful. They went over the different formats of their race events and I couldn’t believe how many they had but we soon realised that a Team Challenge would be best for my staff as they’re ultra-competitive!” continues Liam as he explains his surprise at the sheer wealth of options at this Edinburgh race track.
When Liam and his staff arrived, they were quite taken aback by the the sheer size of the track, “I think the race marshal said it was about 400 metres and one of the biggest in Scotland and, I think it’s fair to say, all my staff were pretty impressed!” explains Liam as he posts the pictures of the race on his company’s website.
The circuit that Liam and his employees tackled was just one of many around Edinburgh much to his surprise, “I was looking at the Karting section of the Paintball Guide website and was shocked to see there was a fair few karting track within an hour or so’s drive from our offices…which has already got our staff talking about a monthly karting competition at the various circuits!”, laughs Liam, though he does not squash the notion, “I won last time, so, they need all the practice they can get!”
