Trekking for fun, learning organized

Part of Orientation Program at T John College

[ClickPress, Tue Oct 05 2010] What would life be without a dash of adventure and some adrenaline rush? Life is also all about the thrill of discovery and adventure. And that was exactly what the orientation program conducted by T John College had in mind when they took their I semester M Sc Biotech and I semester Engineering students on a trek. The trek led them through Bannerghatta forest where the enthusiastic students also went rock climbing.

The students could not get enough of the adrenaline rush though. After trekking, there were more games and sight seeing at the Suvarnamukhi pond. There was much team building, jovial friendships being formed and bonding with the environment.

Chinni Sridhar, Physical Education Director organized the trekking while Saju John, faculty of T.John College of Nursing and Bijoy, staff of TJIT accompanied the students.

The riding principle was that adventure and fun should be accompanied by learning and an awareness of nature. The students also met conservator of forests Milo Tago at the Bannerghatta Zoo to learn more on conservation and biodiversity.
