[ClickPress, Mon Feb 26 2007] Real French car enthusiasts know there's nothing quite like the smell and scream of burning up French rubber on French asphalt. (Except perhaps the Gauloises afterwards)

Well, at the Adrian Flux French Car Show this year you and your mates can do the next best thing. Burn up the French rubber on a French circuit - at Rockingham. Only better, you won't have to risk your own precious Pug - you can do it in a Formula 1 Ferrari. You can do it no matter how many points you've got on your licence. You won't be asked for your insurance cover. You won't even be breathalysed. And best of all, you don't even have to travel to France to do it - you can race without even leaving Rockingham. France will come to you! How British is that?

It's 'The Racing Challenge', an 8-team F1 racing simulator that lets Joe Public (and seven of his mates) race simultaneously. It's new to the French Car Show - and the track isn't Rockingham - it's the French Grand Prix circuit in Magny-Cours. And you won't be racing against a computer - you'll be pitted against your friends in equal cars. It'll be your driving skill that counts.

The Adrian Flux French Car Show spotlights the UK’s best French cars, including performance and modified motors, attracting thousands of people and over 50 clubs. Last year there were over 2,500 cars on display, alongside trade stalls and entertainment.

Rockingham is the first purpose built race track in the UK since Brooklands in 1908.
