Celebrate Mother’s Day Chinese-style at Alisan Restaurant
Alisan, the flagship restaurant of the Aroma Group offering Dim Sum and fine Chinese cuisine, has announced a special menu for Mother’s Day on 19th March.
[ClickPress, Tue Feb 27 2007] “The celebration of Mother's Day by the Chinese is similar to that in UK - children buy flowers and gifts for their mothers, spending time and taking their mothers out for a slap up meal,” said Alisan director Colin Wong, who added, “Although Mother's Day did not originate in China, the Chinese have embraced this day because it is in line with traditional Chinese culture - loving, caring and respecting our parents.”
The most popular flower for on Mother's Day in China is the carnation because of its dense petals that symbolise a mother's care and love for her children. In China Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. This year, the second Sunday in May falls on 13th May.
