Using information drawn from a database of more than 140,000 vehicles mycarcheck.com aims to provide an accurate valuation for any motorcar, adjusted for mileage and age, within seconds of a customer entering the make, model and year into their website.

”The idea is to take the guessing out of vehicle valuation for the thousands of ordinary people who buy and sell cars every year,” said Roger Powell, General Manager of mycarcheck.com.

”We want to make it simple for owners and prospective owners to value their cars and obtain a full history of any individual vehicle at the click of a mouse.”

mycarcheck.com is a trading name of The Vehicle Inspection Company (UK) Ltd, which is a subsidiary of insurance broker software supplier CDL Group Holdings of Stockport, Cheshire.

The site already caters for up to 10,000 hits a day providing a detailed history of almost any vehicle in Britain, drawing on DVLA data to match information accurately with records held by the police and Association of British Insurers.

There are also plans to include financial and mileage information on the mycarcheck.com site in the very near future.

Through its involvement with CDL The Vehicle Inspection Company is the only organisation whose core business is insurance to provide such data. Traditionally such information has been provided by consumer credit agencies.

CDL Group Holdings Ltd, which was established in 1977 to become the market leader in systems for the high volume retail insurance sector, is responsible for carrying out over 1 million vehicle data ID checks per week and provides support to six out of the UK's top ten insurance intermediaries.
