[ClickPress, Mon Mar 05 2007] IT Vision, the asset management specialists, today announced a strategic partnership with Pearson Phoenix, a leading supplier of management information systems (MIS) and finance systems to the education sector.
IT Vision’s software Parago Asset Manager, which allows schools and local education authorities to record and track all ICT assets automatically, will become part of the Phoenix Pearson portfolio under the terms of the agreement. Currently almost 5,000 schools across 27 Education Authorities are using Pearson Phoenix systems as well as a growing number of international schools.
Parago Asset Manager is the first web based online asset discovery and license management system designed to help organisations discover, improve, utilise and manage all their resources more efficiently. Parago builds a dynamic asset inventory of hardware and software at the click of a button, and presents an easy-to-use visual representation of IT and software asset management within the organisation.
The next step in the agreement is to integrate Parago Asset Manager into Pearson Phoenix’s own web based product, e1. Deployed centrally with browser based delivery, e1 is a complete education management system that brings together the tools necessary for managing teaching and learning. By creating a standard platform for both asset management and MIS, there will be no duplication of effort and schools and educational institutions will make considerable time savings.
Tim Roots, Managing Director, IT Vision, said, “It is great for IT Vision to be partnering with a company that has the depth and breadth of expertise of Pearson Phoenix. By integrating our web based products we will be able to deliver substantial benefits to schools and educational institutions.”
Stuart Abrahams, Sales and Marketing Director, Pearson Phoenix said: “We have a reputation for supplying best of breed products to schools and Parago Asset Manager is a welcome addition to the portfolio. We believe that IT Vision has truly set the bar for asset management systems with Parago.”
Awareness of ICT infrastructure is vital to the planning and success of a school’s ICT strategy. Without a clear idea of what software is being used in a school and an accurate picture of hardware implementation, school management cannot make effective and efficient decisions about future ICT procurement. Parago’s unique icon based interface, which gives an easily recognisable 3D feel to what would ordinarily be a plain spreadsheet, allows assets to be tracked as they change location and configuration, making yearly audits a simple and efficient process. Parago also offers license tracking and alerts when software quotas are exceeded – essential for ensuring schools do not unknowingly break any licensing laws.

About IT Vision
Since its initial formation in 2004 IT Vision has become the market leader in web-based ICT asset discovery and software licensing.
The founders of IT Vision originally identified a requirement whilst working alongside a number of government agencies, schools and local authorities. Recognising that the Government has invested millions in IT, it became apparent that records were absent or difficult to audit. Current asset management solutions were either too complicated to use or expensive to justify against cost.
The first system to be released by IT Vision was Parago®, the first web-based Asset Discovery and Software Licensing system. Product development was directly influenced by the education institutions and authorities on a step by step basis. This unique relationship with current and future clients continues today and is central to IT Vision’s success.
