[ClickPress, Wed Mar 07 2007] From the ordeal of auditing to the rising threat of fires and burglaries, schools now have so much expensive equipment that they need to get their assets in order! IT Vision (www.itvision.net) has the answer and is now offering a FREE version of its unique software Parago to enable primary schools to manage assets easily and effectively.

Tim Roots, Managing Director of IT Vision, commented: “With the huge growth in spending on ICT, it’s essential that schools keep track of all their ICT assets as well as the numerous other assets and equipment that are valuable within a school. Parago tracks all kinds of assets with no limits on how much information schools can record. This makes auditing far easier and means the school is fully prepared in case of burglaries or fires, which are, sadly, increasingly common in the education sector.”

The average British primary school has 55 PCs and spends more than £12,000 per year on ICT, according to BESA. With so much expensive equipment, the cost of school fires has risen dramatically – to a staggering £80m per year, according to the Arson Prevention Bureau.

Tim Roots added: “As well as sprinklers and alarms, schools need an asset management system so that valuable equipment can be replaced and insurance claims can be made. It’s no good storing information on spreadsheets on a local PC if you suffer a fire – it needs to be stored offsite, and this is exactly what Parago does. Parago was designed following DfES guidelines on effective use of internet technology, all data is held in a secure hosting centre in London that allows our customers to have all information at their finger tips through an internet-connected computer.”

Parago basic provides:
- An online database to record all assets with no limits on entries and information
- Visual icon-based software which reflects the lay-out of the school
- Reports on assets when required, ideal for yearly audits and budget planning
- Data stored securely offsite in event of fire or theft

To take advantage of this offer, visit www.itvision.net to register and you will receive your login details via email.

The full version of Parago is available at a low cost and is suitable for larger institutions such as secondary schools and local education authorities who need to scan and update their assets more regularly. The system automatically scans all hardware and software on every computer connected to an organisations network and adds the details directly into Parago. Using this information the licence manager allows the user to manage licence compliance and view where every type of software is located within the organisation.

About IT Vision
Since its initial formation in 2004 IT Vision has become the market leader in web-based ICT asset discovery and software licensing.

The founders of IT Vision originally identified a requirement whilst working alongside a number of government agencies, schools and local authorities. Recognising that the Government has invested millions in IT, it became apparent that records were absent or difficult to audit. Current asset management solutions were either too complicated to use or expensive to justify against cost.

The first system to be released by IT Vision was Parago®, the first web-based Asset Discovery and Software Licensing system. Product development was directly influenced by the education institutions and authorities on a step by step basis. This unique relationship with current and future clients continues today and is central to IT Vision’s success.
